HOW WEGOVY® WORKS
Reduces appetite.
Sustains weight loss. Wegovy® (semaglutide) mimics GLP-1, a natural hormone released by the gut after eating that signals fullness to the brain.

Feel fuller for longer
After eating, the gut releases a hormone called GLP-1 that tells the brain it's time to stop eating. Wegovy® mimics that hormone, but with a structure designed to last days instead of minutes. It activates the same receptors in the brain that regulate hunger and fullness, producing a stronger, more sustained sense of satiety.
Sustains weight loss
As appetite decreases naturally, body weight drops meaningfully over time — an average of about 15% in clinical trials among adults without diabetes. That weight loss is accompanied by improvements in blood pressure, blood sugar, waist circumference, and markers of inflammation.
Reduces cravings
Wegovy® also slows how quickly food leaves the stomach, so meals feel satisfying for longer and blood sugar rises more gradually after eating. At the same time, it acts on brain pathways that reduce food cravings.
